Clipture Support

Help with permissions, scrolling screenshots, clipboard history, and restoring a sponsorship record.

Screen Recording permission on Mac

Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen & System Audio Recording, enable Clipture, then quit and reopen Clipture. The permission is tied to the installed app identity, so use the copy from Applications.

Installing on Windows

Install Clipture from Microsoft Store. The Store selects the correct x64 or ARM64 package, verifies the app, adds it to the Start menu and Windows Installed apps, and keeps it updated automatically. The Windows download is larger than the Mac DMG because it includes the .NET desktop runtime and native OCR and storage components, so no separate runtime is required.

Screenshots on an HDR display

Clipture for Windows captures the desktop as floating-point scRGB and tone-maps it to a normal SDR PNG or JPEG, avoiding the washed-out result produced by legacy screen capture. HDR-preserving JXR or HEIC export is not currently offered: a different extension cannot restore HDR data after editing in SDR, so Clipture does not label an SDR file as HDR.

Automatic scrolling

Automatic scrolling is available in the direct-download Mac app and Windows app; the Mac App Store edition does not include it. On Mac, enable Clipture in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility, keep the target window in front, and press Esc at any time to cancel.

Clipboard history

Clipboard history is optional and stored only on the current device. Open Clipture Settings → Clipboard to change retention and storage limits, clean up old entries, or clear all saved history.

Restore a sponsorship record

The Mac App Store version restores with the same Apple Account. The direct version uses the email entered when sponsoring. An App Store record can also be linked to the direct version after email verification.
